All the interesting features of Whatsapp
WhatsApp is a popular messaging app, but there may be hidden or lesser-known features that you might find interesting. Here are some features and tips that were available until my last update in September 2021. Please note that some of these features may no longer be valid or there may be new ones since then: Ephemeral Messages: You
can enable Ephemeral messages in chat settings, causing messages to disappear after a certain amount of time.
Private replies in groups: In a group, you can reply to a specific message privately by long-pressing the message and choosing “Reply privately”.
Archive chats: You can archive chats to hide them from the main view without deleting them. Swipe the conversation to the left and tap “Archive.”
Rearrange tabs: In the “Chats” tab, you can rearrange the order of chats by holding down a chat and moving it up or down.
Pinning chats: You can pin your most important chats to the top of the “Chats” tab by holding down a chat and choosing the “Pin” option.
Custom Status: You can set a custom status to let your contacts know what you are doing or feeling. Go to the “Status” tab and tap “My Status” to customize it.
Reduce data consumption: In settings, you can reduce data consumption by calling or using WhatsApp Web only when connected to Wi-Fi.
Use on multiple devices: WhatsApp is working on a multi-device feature that will allow the same account to be used on multiple devices without needing the main phone to be constantly connected.
Transferring chats to a new number: If you change your phone number, WhatsApp allows you to transfer your chats to your new number.
Unread messages: Mark messages as unread by long-pressing a message and choosing “Mark as unread”. This can be helpful to remind you to respond later.
Mailing List: You can create mailing lists to send messages to multiple contacts at the same time.
QR Phone Number: You can add contacts by scanning their WhatsApp QR code, which makes the process faster than entering their number manually.
Advanced Search: In a discussion, you can use advanced search to find specific words in the discussion.
Quotes in Replies: When replying to a message, you can quote the original message by swiping right, which helps clarify what you’re responding to.
